High Schools (Grades 9-12) in Southwest Houston, Sharpstown & Alief

17 high schools (grades 9-12) in Southwest Houston, Sharpstown & Alief, and 12 of them participate in TEFA ($10,474 per student in 2026-27). Sharpstown, Gulfton, Alief and Fondren Southwest — some of the most diverse neighborhoods in America, with Catholic, Islamic, Christian and bilingual schools.

Verified against two public records. TEFA participation is checked against the Texas Education Freedom Accounts participating-school finder (Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts), retrieved October 9, 2026. Enrollment, teachers, religious orientation and associations come from the NCES Private School Survey (U.S. Department of Education) (2023-24, or 2021-22 where noted). Tuition is not reported to either — confirm it with the school.

Funding note: TEFA pays the same $10,474 at every grade, so it covers a larger share of tuition at high schools than many families expect — plus dual-credit and CTE fees.
