Gifted & talented: Houston private schools, approved providers & TEFA funding

Schools that report gifted and talented programs, and schools founded for gifted students. 25 schools and 0 TEFA-approved providers in Greater Houston match.

Verified against two public records. TEFA participation is checked against the Texas Education Freedom Accounts participating-school finder (Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts), retrieved October 9, 2026. Enrollment, teachers, religious orientation and associations come from the NCES Private School Survey (U.S. Department of Education) (2023-24, or 2021-22 where noted). Tuition is not reported to either — confirm it with the school.

What a TEFA account can pay for

Tuition at a participating gifted school
Dual credit and AP exam fees
Enrichment and STEM programs from approved vendors

Therapies qualify only when Medicaid, another government benefit or private insurance doesn't already cover them. Tutors have to meet the Comptroller's credential policy. See every category →
