The Comptroller's tuition and fee guidelines say a school may not charge TEFA families different tuition, and that generally applicable discounts must continue.
Eligible fees include enrollment, books and materials, technology, school-related activities and athletics, uniforms, school-day meals, mandatory facility and security fees, graduation, transportation and assessments.
Before- and after-school care, capital campaign charges and parent organization dues are not eligible. Families can pay 2027-28 tuition early with 2026-27 funds; if a student leaves the program, prepaid amounts go back to the state.
